The bondage manufacturing industry in North America
and Europe is being decimated by cheap imports from
East and South East Asia. We are not alone in this and
our industry is not the only industry affected. We have
governments blindly committed to a policy of free trade
irrespective of the impact on local industry and employment.
Factors such as exploitation of child or slave labour
and irresponsible dumping of highly toxic waste in the
leather tanning industries, still highy prevalent throughout
much of Asia, is tacitly accepted by our open door trade
policies. We don't accept anti-social behaviour by our
own industries; why should we accept it in our trading
partners? And neither, if we are to believe our Government's
public utterances, do we accept misleading product descriptions.
The Oxford Dictionary defines 'leather' as the "skin"
of an animal. When the skin has been removed and the
remains reprocesssed with a synthetic polymer finish
is this still leather?
Some of the pages on our website are an attack on blatant
misleading product descriptions in the leather industries
and the worldwide masquerading of imitation leather
products as the genuine thing. We emplore you to look
deeper into the products you choose to buy and to not
be fooled by irresponsible ond often dangerous leather
goods being offered by many other online retailers and
stores. Your country and your neighbours are depending
on you!
If
you accept the under investigated lies that companies
today try to use to absovle them of responsibility for
perpetuating these outrageous acts of Human Rights violations
